Engineering

The Engineering department is the beating heart of our company. This is where prototypes, machine lines and modules are developed and optimized. A new line starts with the request of a customer. This can be a Huhtamaki company or an external company. Incremental Innovation makes a business case, after which Engineering creates the drawings and prototypes. And if Validation Technology gives the green light as well, our engineers will develop a machine for mass production.

In addition to new packaging lines, Engineering also works on existing lines. A continuous process for which colleagues, who like to do so, travel all over the world. There is a lot to optimize. Because every step in producing with molded and smooth fiber – from forming to labelling – is a production process in itself. But the real challenge and kick for our engineers is of course in designing new lines. This requires creativity, insight and technical ingenuity. It is good that we have plenty of room for experimentation and pilot projects in Leeuwarden. That will make any technical heart beat faster!
